Google Now Collecting Hiking, Biking Trail Images

Google has entered the world of trail mapping with its Trike, a tricycle with a camera and other data-collecting devices on board. The intent is to expand the Street View option in Google Maps (which allows the viewer to see street-level images) to off-road images, such as natural landmarks, seashores and hiking and biking trails. Initially, Google is sending its Trikes to California, Britain and Italy.
